AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 45-6-9, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REVISE THE ADMINISTRATIVE AND FISCAL SUPPORT OF THE BOARD OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS' TRAINING AND STANDARDS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 45-6-9, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

45-6-9. The board shall exercise its prescribed statutory powers, duties and functions including rule making, licensing, approving training programs, insuring compliance, and the adoption of rules and regulations for internal management and control of board programs. The executive director of the board shall be selected in accordance with policies and procedures established by the state personnel board with the advice and consent of the board. The board shall prepare and submit budgets. Board expenditures of appropriated funds shall be in accordance with policies and procedures established by the Department of Finance and Administration and the Office of the Treasury.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
