AN ACT TO DESIGNATE THE SONG "MISSISSIPPI" BY EDWARD OWEN MILLER AS THE OFFICIAL SONG OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI; TO REPEAL CHAPTER 654, GENERAL LAWS, 1962 WHICH DESIGNATED THE SONG "GO, MISSISSIPPI" BY HOUSTON DAVIS AS THE OFFICIAL SONG OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The song "Mississippi" by Edward Owen Miller is designated as the official song of the State of Mississippi.

SECTION 2. Chapter 654, General Laws, 1962 which designated the song "Go, Mississippi" by Houston Davis as the official state song, is repealed.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
