AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, ACTING THROUGH THE BUREAU OF BUILDING, GROUNDS AND REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING, FURNISHING AND EQUIPPING AN ATHLETIC STADIUM FOR JACKSON STATE UNIVERSITY, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Department of Finance and Administration, acting through the Bureau of Building, Grounds and Real Property Management, for the purpose of constructing, furnishing and equipping an athletic stadium for Jackson State University, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001 $30,000,000.00.

SECTION 2. The Department of Finance and Administration, acting through the Bureau of Building, Grounds and Real Property Management, is expressly authorized and empowered to receive, budget and expend any local or other source funds in connection with the expenditure of funds appropriated by this act.

SECTION 3. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers, in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
