AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS TO CONSTRUCT A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY ON STATE-OWNED LAND IN QUITMAN COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Department of Corrections may construct and operate a correctional facility not to exceed one thousand (1,000) beds on state-owned land in Quitman County. The Department of Corrections shall select a suitable site or sites on the state-owned land for the facility.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
