AN ACT TO DIRECT THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO CONSTRUCT A FOUR-LANE HIGHWAY TO CONNECT U.S. HIGHWAY 82 IN GREENVILLE WITH INTERSTATE 69 AT OR NEAR THE POINT AT WHICH INTERSTATE 69 CROSSES THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Mississippi Department of Transportation is hereby authorized and directed to construct a four-lane highway, that is, not less than two (2) lanes for traffic flowing in each direction, to connect U.S. 82 in Greenville, Mississippi, with Interstate 69 at or near the point at which Interstate 69 crosses the Mississippi River. Final roadway alignment will be determined by a feasibility study.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
