AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTIONS 11-3-23 AND 11-3-25, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH PROVIDE FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF A PENALTY ON CERTAIN JUDGMENTS APPEALED TO THE SUPREME COURT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Sections 11-3-23 and 11-3-25, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provide for the assessment of a penalty on the appeal of certain judgments to the Supreme Court, are repealed.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
