A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING MRS. HENRIETTA WASHINGTON GREEN OR HER MANY YEARS OF SERVICE AND CONGRATULATE HER UPON HER RETIREMENT.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Henrietta Washington Green will retire after 27 years of service to the State of Mississippi with the Holmes County Department of Human Services; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Green, a native of Holmes County, Mississippi, graduated from Ambrose High School and furthered her education with studies at Rust College, Mississippi Valley State University and the University of Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, in 1973, Mrs. Green began her service to the people of Holmes County as a clerk in the Economic Assistance Department for the Department of Human Services; and

WHEREAS, from 1987 to 1991, Mrs. Green worked as an accounting clerk for the Child Support Department and currently serves as a child support enforcement officer; and

WHEREAS, an active member of her community, Mrs. Green is a member of the NAACP, the Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church, where she actively serves on numerous committees including scholarship, finance, senior choir, pulpit, and program committee; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Green has been lovingly supported in all her endeavors by her late husband, Mr. William H. Green; her five children, Connie, Belinda Kaye, Ronnie, Janice, Bessie; and eight grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend outstanding service such as that of Mrs. Green, who has dedicated 27 years of service to the citizens of Holmes County:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend Mrs. Henrietta Washington Green for her 27 years of service and congratulate her upon her retirement.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mrs. Henrietta Washington Green and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
