House Concurrent Resolution 93

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MS. MAUDE LEE LADNER CUEVAS UPON HER RETIREMENT FROM THE HARRISON COUNTY TAX ASSESSOR'S OFFICE.

WHEREAS, Ms. Maude Lee Ladner Cuevas retired from the Harrison County Tax Assessor's Office in 1999; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Cuevas, a graduate of Perkinston Junior College, has worked as a Mississippi Assessment Evaluator and is a certified Mississippi Residential License Appraiser; and

WHEREAS, in 1961, Ms. Cuevas began working at the Harrison County Tax Assessor's Office and served Harrison County as the Tax Assessor from 1996 to 1999; and

WHEREAS, an active member of her community, Ms. Cuevas has served as a former President of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW #2539, a representative of South Mississippi Legislative Committee of Assessor/Collector Association and a member of the Pioneer Ladner Family of Saucier, Mississippi, and Harrison County; and

WHEREAS, in addition, Ms. Cuevas is a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lizana, Mississippi, where she is the Entertainment and Fundraising Chairman; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend outstanding service of Mississippians such as Ms. Cuevas, who has served the citizens of Harrison County, Mississippi, to the best of her ability in carrying out her many duties of public service for over 35 years:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Maude Lee Ladner Cuevas upon her retirement from the Harrison County Tax Assessor's Office and extend to her our appreciation for her many years of dedicated service to the citizens of Harrison County and the State of Mississippi.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Maude Lee Ladner Cuevas and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
