A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE OUTSTANDING CAREER OF COMEDIAN JAMES TERRYL "T. BUBBA" BECHTOL.

WHEREAS, James Terryl Bechtol, known as "T. Bubba" to his friends, is a successful humorist, columnist, comedian and professional speaker whose brand of humor is clean and current; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bechtol, born in Biloxi, Mississippi, attended schools in Ocean Springs, Long Beach High School and Perkinston Jr. College, where he earned an AA degree in business and established a scholarship fund; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bechtol has performed before thousands, opening for singing stars including Loretta Lynn, Tanya Tucker, Eddy Arnold, Billy Ray Cyrus, Merle Haggard, Marty Stuart and Vince Gill; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bechtol, referred to as "Will Rogers 2000," has performed in the White House for three presidents and on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry; and

WHEREAS, as a Certified Professional Speaker with the National Speakers Association, Mr. Bechtol has received numerous awards for his remarkable talent in the speaking profession; and

WHEREAS, an active member of community organizations, Mr. Bechtol served as former president of the United States Jaycees and the Freedom's Foundation; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bechtol, regularly featured on The Nashville Network, debuted on the Grand Ole Opry on October 24, 1988, and became a regular on the Opry January 7, 2000; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to commend outstanding Mississippians such as Mr. James Terryl "T. Bubba" Bechtol, who has dedicated 25 years of his life to bringing humor and laughter to so many people across the country:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate comedian Mr. James Terryl "T. Bubba" Bechtol on his outstanding and successful career and extend our heartiest wishes for success in all his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. James Terryl "T. Bubba" Bechtol and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
