A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING MRS. LINDA BRANCH MCGREGOR ON BEING SELECTED AS CARROLL COUNTY'S 1999 BUSINESS WOMAN OF THE YEAR.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Linda Branch McGregor, a resident of Carrollton, Mississippi, has been named Carroll County's 1999 Business Woman of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. McGregor began working for the Mississippi Department of Human Services in Carrollton in 1974 and served the people of Carroll County for 27 years; and

WHEREAS, after her retirement from the Department of Human Services, Mrs. McGregor began working two full-time jobs that were supposed to have been one part-time job; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. McGregor works as the town clerk for Carrollton and the water department and as a secretary for attorney Thomas Kirschten; and

WHEREAS, an active member of her community, Mrs. McGregor is a member of Carrollton Methodist Church, where she has served as chairman of the board for the past 13 years; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. McGregor has been lovingly supported in all her endeavors by her husband, James "Red" McGregor; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to commend outstanding Mississippians, such as Mrs. Linda Branch McGregor, who has dedicated her life to serving the citizens of Carroll County:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mrs. Linda Branch McGregor on being named Carroll County's 1999 Business Woman of the Year.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mrs. Linda Branch McGregor and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
