AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING FOR THE RENOVATION AND REFURNISHING OF EUNICE POWELL HALL, THE INSTITUTION MANAGEMENT LABORATORY, THE HOME MANAGEMENT HOUSE AND THE RENOVATION OF THE NURSERY SCHOOL AREA AT ALCORN STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2001.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning for the renovation and refurnishing of certain buildings at Alcorn State University for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001

$830,000.00.

SECTION 2. Of the funds appropriated to Alcorn State University under the provisions of Section 1, the maximum amount that may be expended for each purpose for the following renovation and refurnishing projects shall be:

For the renovation and refurnishing of

the Eunice Powell Hall and the

Institution Management Laboratory:

Construction $300,000.00

Furniture and Equipment $300,000.00

Total $600,000.00

For the renovation of the Nursery School Area:

Construction $100,000.00

Furniture and Equipment $ 50,000.00

Total $150,000.00

For the renovation and refurnishing of the

Home Management House:

Construction $ 30,000.00

Furniture and Equipment $ 50,000.00

Total $ 80,000.00

SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
