House Bill 1588

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE OXFORD-LAFAYETTE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Lafayette County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may contribute to the Oxford-Lafayette County Economic Development Foundation or to any other corporation, foundation, organization, association or groups to support industrial development in the county and the City of Oxford, out of any available funds, an amount not to exceed One Hundred Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($125,000.00) per fiscal year for each of the following fiscal years: October 1, 2000, to September 30, 2001; October 1, 2001, to September 30, 2002; October 1, 2002, to September 30, 2003; and October 1, 2003, to September 30, 2004.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
