AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE TAX COMMISSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF REFUNDING CERTAIN INCOME TAXES THAT WERE OVERPAID, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2000.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. In addition to all other sums previously appropriated, the following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the special fund created in Section 27-7-313, Mississippi Code of 1972, to the State Tax Commission for the purpose of refunding income taxes that were overpaid by Randolph Holmes, for the period beginning upon the passage of this act and ending June 30, 2000.....$518.00.

This additional appropriation is for the purpose of refunding income taxes that were overpaid by Randolph Holmes, who properly applied for and was properly paid an income tax refund for the tax year 1993, but did not realize the tax refund due to failure to timely cash the warrant for the refund.

SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper special fund as specified in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
