AN ACT TO CREATE A CODE SECTION TO REQUIRE ALL PUBLIC AND PRIVATE CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES TO INSTALL VIDEO CAMERAS IN ALL MULTI-PRISONER HOLDING AREAS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. All public and private correctional facilities are required to install a video surveillance camera in all multi-prisoner holding areas. It shall be the responsibility of the management of the correctional facility to oversee the prompt installation of the video surveillance cameras.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
