AN ACT TO REVISE THE DESIGN OF THE STATE FLAG TO COMPLY WITH THE APPEARANCE OF THE MAGNOLIA FLAG; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Mississippi State Flag shall have a width two-thirds (2/3) of its length, with the canton corner, located in the upper left hand corner, two-thirds (2/3) of the width of the flag. The field of the canton corner shall be blue with a white five-pointed star in the center. The ground of the flag shall be white with a magnolia tree in the center. The flag shall be finished with a red border and a red fringe at the extremity of the flag.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
