AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE LOCATION OF STRIP CLUBS WITHIN ONE-FOURTH MILE OF A CHURCH, SCHOOL, KINDERGARTEN OR COURTHOUSE; TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful to locate within one-fourth (1/4) of one (1) mile of any church, school, kindergarten or court house any establishment where public displays of nudity are present. Any person found guilty of violating this section shall, upon conviction, be fined not more than Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) or imprisoned for not more than one (1) year, or both.

For the purposes of this section the term "nudity" and "public display" shall have the same meanings as those terms are defined in Section 19-5-103.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
