AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE SALE OF BODY PARTS OF UNBORN CHILDREN; TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF THIS ACT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Any person who sells or otherwise transfers any unborn fetus or any body part or tissue thereof shall be guilty of a felony and upon conviction shall be imprisoned for two (2) years and shall be fined not more than Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00).

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2000.
