Senate Resolution 48
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING CARMEL STRINGER FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE ON THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF JONES COUNTY JUNIOR COLLEGE.
WHEREAS, Carmel Stringer has served for 46 consecutive years on the Board of Trustees of Jones County Junior College; and
WHEREAS, Carmel Stringer served for 11 years as the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Jones County Junior College; and
WHEREAS, Carmel Stringer is a former director of the Jones County Junior College Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Carmel Stringer's dedicated service has helped Jones County Junior College attain its goal of educating and molding the students of the college to be productive citizens and leaders of the State of Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Carmel Stringer is active in numerous community and civic organizations; and
WHEREAS, Carmel Stringer is a founding director of the Jones County Economic Development Authority and served in various capacities with that organization; and
WHEREAS, Carmel Stringer is a long-time supporter of the Dixie Youth Baseball Program; and
WHEREAS, Carmel Stringer is a dedicated and faithful member of the Moselle Memorial Baptist Church where he has served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, trustee, and on numerous committees; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize the contributions of the citizens of Mississippi;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SENATE, That we do hereby commend Carmel Stringer for his many years of dedicated service to his community, Jones County Junior College, and the youth of this state;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to Carmel Stringer.
