A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE CLINTON HIGH SCHOOL CHEERLEADERS FOR WINNING THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Clinton High School Cheerleaders won the Mississippi High school Activities Association State Championship in the Select Large Division; and
WHEREAS, the Clinton High School Cheerleaders are repeat champions because they won the State Cheerleading Championship in 1996-1997; and
WHEREAS, the Clinton High School Cheerleaders nailed their second championship with a flawless performance; and
WHEREAS, the Clinton High School Cheerleaders were also recognized for their academic excellence by being the squad with the highest grade point average in their division; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Clinton High School Cheerleaders are: Seniors: Alexandria Bahl, Ashley Barton, Chessy Bishop, Jessica Blalock, Alison Conerly and Erika Love; Juniors: Leslie Brooks, Rebecca Dalton, Angel McCullough, Brandi Murray, Jerrie Ann Thrash and Sarah Beth Tonore; Sophomores: Kim Bishop, Jana Godfrey, Bonnie Hawkins, Lorene Jones, Laura Meigs and Kristy Patterson; and
WHEREAS, the Clinton High School Cheerleaders were supported and guided by sponsors Sandra Deas and Barbie Ferguson and Coach Gretchen Wurm; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Mississippi Senate to recognize the noteworthy accomplishments of the youth of this state:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we commend and congratulate the Clinton High School Cheerleaders for winning their second consecutive State Cheerleading Championship.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to the Clinton High School Cheerleaders.
