A RESOLUTION COMMENDING CHRISTINE VARNADO, A SENIOR AT HATTIESBURG HIGH SCHOOL, FOR SCORING A PERFECT 36 ON THE AMERICAN COLLEGE TEST (ACT). 

WHEREAS, Christine Varnado, a senior at Hattiesburg High School, has achieved perfection by scoring a perfect 36 on the American College Test (ACT); and

WHEREAS, she is one of only 74 students out of 957,301 across America to make a 36 on the ACT this year; and

WHEREAS, Christine has been accepted into Harvard University and Millsaps College and plans to study English; and

WHEREAS, Christine does not take the credit for her accomplishments, instead acknowledging the influence of her parents, Carey and Peggy Varnado, in her academic career; and

WHEREAS, special commendations are extended to Christine's teachers at Hattiesburg High School, where she is the second student from this excellent institution to make a 36 on the ACT in the past three years; and

WHEREAS, Christine's hobbies are theater, writing, public speaking and tutoring children, and her determination to achieve academic excellence has earned for her and her high school the respect and admiration of the Legislature and of the citizenry of this state:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby honor and congratulate Christine Varnado, a senior at Hattiesburg High School, for scoring a perfect 36 on the American College Test (ACT) this year, and wish her continued success in her future academic and career endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be furnished to Christine and to the Principal of Hattiesburg High School, and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
