A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING MRS. MYRTLE D. RAY UPON THE OCCASION OF HER 100TH BIRTHDAY. 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Myrtle D. Ray was born January 16, 1898, in the Hopewell Community in Benton County, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, her family moved to Chalybeate in Tippah County, Mississippi, so Mrs. Ray and her sister Mary could attend the agricultural school that was located there; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ray married F.W. Ray on June 5, 1921, and they were happily married until his death on January 23, 1976; and

WHEREAS, after their marriage they resided in Oxford, Greenwood and Potts Camp; and

WHEREAS, after the death of Mr. Ray, Mrs. Ray continued to live in Potts Camp until she moved to New Albany ten years ago; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ray is an active member of the First United Methodist Church in New Albany, is active in her hobby of flower arranging and is an avid student of history; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Myrtle D. Ray reaches a milestone in her life on January 16, 1998, when she celebrates the occasion of her one hundredth birthday:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby congratulate Mrs. Myrtle D. Ray upon the occasion of her one hundredth birthday and wish her much happiness in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Myrtle D. Ray.
