Senate Concurrent Resolution 665

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE DEXTER ATTENDANCE CENTER BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING SEASON. 

WHEREAS, the Dexter Attendance Center Boys Basketball Team finished the 1997-1998 season with an outstanding record of 24 wins and 9 losses; and

WHEREAS, the Bulldogs competed well in tournament play, winning the Division 7-1A District Tournament, the Division 7-1A South State Tournament, and finishing in third place in the State Tournament; and

WHEREAS, special recognition should be given to Ron Terry Bell (All-State, All-South State, All-District); Zac Ratcliff (All-South State, All-District); and Fred Fortenberry (All-South State); and

WHEREAS, the Bulldogs have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Steve Fortenberry, who has broadened the players' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, the Bulldogs have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a great degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitudes reflect great credit upon individual players and their coaches and bring honor to Dexter Attendance Center; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend the Dexter Attendance Center Boys Basketball Team for its outstanding season.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Dexter Attendance Center and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
