A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING JOHANNES NEUMAN UPON HIS RETIREMENT AFTER 38 YEARS OF SERVICE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT. 

WHEREAS, Johannes Neuman was born in New York City on November 1, 1933, and is the only child of Johannes and Elarieta Neuman; and

WHEREAS, at the age of 27, Johannes Neuman began his law enforcement career as a Police Reserve in Neptune, New Jersey, and in 1960, began his first full-time police job at Ocean Grove, New Jersey, as a Patrolman; and

WHEREAS, in 1968, Johannes Neuman joined the Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey, Police Department as a Patrolman and later became an investigator; and

WHEREAS, during his employment in New Jersey, Johannes Neuman attended the Mommouth County Police Academy; and

WHEREAS, in 1978, Johannes Neuman moved to Texas and began work as a Patrolman for the City of Mathis, Texas, earning the rank of Sergeant in 1981; and

WHEREAS, during his employment in Texas, Johannes Neuman attended the South Texas Security Officers Training Academy and the Regional Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Academy in Corpus Christi, Texas; and

WHEREAS, in 1982, Johannes Neuman joined the Texas Department of Corrections where he worked until he retired in 1995; and

WHEREAS, in December, 1995, Johannes Neuman joined the Bassfield, Mississippi, Police Department with the rank of Lieutenant and retired on December 31, 1997, with a total of 38 years of law enforcement service; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Legislature to commend the exemplary service of its citizens:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend Johannes Neuman upon his retirement after 38 years of service in law enforcement and wish him continued success in his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Johannes Neuman and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
