AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF STARKVILLE, MISSISSIPPI, TO EXTEND THE POLICE JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF STARKVILLE TO AREAS LOCATED WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CAMPUS OF MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY PURSUANT TO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE UNIVERSITY AND THE CITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.  

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the City of Starkville, Mississippi, are hereby authorized and empowered to extend the police jurisdiction of the City of Starkville to the area located within the boundaries of the Campus of Mississippi State University in accordance with and subject to an interlocal agreement between Mississippi State University and the City of Starkville. Such agreement shall specify the parameters of the exercise of police jurisdiction on the campus and contains such other conditions relating to the exercise of the police jurisdiction of the city as are found necessary or desirable.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
