AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF STATE GENERAL FUNDS TO THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SENATE AND THE MISSISSIPPI HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING THE UNUSED ACCUMULATED LEAVE OF THOMAS CARLTON WARD AND ANDREW J. REESE, JR., PURSUANT TO SECTION 25-3-97, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING THE STATE'S SHARE OF RETIREMENT CONTRIBUTIONS, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 11, TITLE 25, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, FOR FISCAL YEARS 1998 AND 1999. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sums, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of providing contingent funds for the Mississippi State Senate and the Mississippi House of Representatives for the period beginning upon passage and through June 30, 1999:

Contingent Fund for the Senate $ 113,000.00.

Contingent Fund for the House of Representatives

$ 60,000.00.

SECTION 2. This additional appropriation is made for the purpose of paying the unused accumulated leave of Thomas Carlton Ward and Andrew J. Reese, Jr., pursuant to Section 25-3-97, Mississippi Code of 1972, and for the purpose of paying the state's share of retirement contributions, pursuant to Chapter 11, Title 25, Mississippi Code of 1972.

SECTION 3. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and through June 30, 1999.
