AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF CONSTRUCTING A HOSPITALITY STATION TO BE LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 49 AND U.S. HIGHWAY 61 IN COAHOMA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Mississippi Department of Transportation for the purpose of defraying the expenses in locating, designing and constructing a hospitality station, as provided by Section 65-31-1, Mississippi Code of 1972, to be located in the vicinity of the intersection of U. S. Highway 49 and U. S. Highway 61 in Coahoma County, Mississippi, which is approximately seventeen and two-tenths (17.2) miles north of Clarksdale, Mississippi, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1998, and ending June 30, 1999 $ 2,500,000.00.

SECTION 2. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1998.
