AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF STONE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO LEVY AN ASSESSMENT, IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER ASSESSMENTS AND COURT COSTS, TO FUND THE CONSTRUCTION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF A JUSTICE COURT FACILITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

 

SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Stone County, Mississippi, in its discretion, by resolution duly adopted and entered on its minutes, may levy as assessment, in addition to any other assessments and court costs, not to exceed Four Dollars ($4.00) per case for each misdemeanor case processed through the justice court of the county.

(2) The avails of the additional assessment imposed pursuant to subsection (1) of this section shall be used to fund the construction, operation and maintenance of a justice court facility in Stone County.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after passage.
