AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF STATE GENERAL FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, FOR FISCAL YEAR 1998. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Department of Human Services, Division of Family and Children's Services, for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the department for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1998 $ 6,800,000.00.

SECTION 2. This additional appropriation is made for the purpose of preventing a deficit which would otherwise occur in the Division of Family and Children's Services as a result of providing residential care and services to children in the custody of the Department of Human Services.

SECTION 3. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
