AN ACT TO REQUIRE A CERTAIN DEPTH FOR ALL GRAVES WHEN BURYING DEAD HUMAN BODIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. When burying dead human bodies, all graves shall be at least six (6) feet in depth. Any person or licensed funeral establishment violating the provisions of this section may be subject to disciplinary proceedings by the State Board of Funeral Service as provided in Section 73-11-57, Mississippi Code of 1972.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1998.
