AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARDS OF SUPERVISORS OF MARION, LAMAR, PEARL RIVER, FORREST, PERRY, JONES AND COVINGTON COUNTIES TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS ANNUALLY TO PEARL RIVER VALLEY OPPORTUNITY, INC., TO BE USED AS MATCHING FUNDS IN ORDER THAT PEARL RIVER VALLEY OPPORTUNITY, INC., MAY RECEIVE FUNDS FROM THE STATE OR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Boards of Supervisors of Marion, Lamar, Pearl River, Forrest, Perry, Jones and Covington Counties, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to contribute annually to Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Inc., a community action agency, funds, in an amount not to exceed Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00) per year by each individual board during Fiscal Years 1998 and 1999, to be used as matching funds in order that Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Inc., may receive funds from the state or federal government.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
