House Resolution 43

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE INGOMAR HIGH SCHOOL LADY FALCONS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR AN OUTSTANDING SEASON. 

WHEREAS, the Ingomar High School Lady Falcons Basketball Team finished the 1997-1998 season with an outstanding record of 33 wins and only 7 losses; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Falcons competed in various tournaments this season, winning both the Ingomar Tournament and the Division 2-1A Tournament titles; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Falcons did very well in the State Tournament this year, finishing as the runner up in the State Tournament; and

WHEREAS, many individual honors have been bestowed upon various team members in recognition of their hard work, dedication and superior play including the naming of Kerriane Ashley, Joanna Floyd and Jessica Carpenter to the All-State Tournament Team; and

WHEREAS, the girls have been superbly coached and inspired by Coach Norris Ashley and Assistant Coach Chris Kidd, who have broadened the players' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Falcons have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coaches and bring honor to Ingomar High School; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this House to recognize, commend and encourage excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Ingomar High School Lady Falcons Basketball Team and their coaches, Head Coach Norris Ashley and Assistant Coach Chris Kidd for their outstanding season and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ingomar High School, Head Coach Norris Ashley and Assistant Coach Chris Kidd.
