A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR. ARTHUR SPENCER HOFF UPON HIS RETIREMENT FOR AN OUTSTANDING 25 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE STATE PARKS OF MISSISSIPPI. 

WHEREAS, Mr. Arthur Spencer Hoff, affectionately known as "Artie", has been employed by the State Park Commission since June 1977; and

WHEREAS, after graduating from South Pike High School, Artie furthered his education by attending Mississippi State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation and a master's degree in Public Policy and Administration; and

WHEREAS, Artie began his career with the State Park Commission in 1977, where he worked as the Assistant Manager of Tombigbee State Park; and

WHEREAS, in 1978, Artie was named the Manager of George Payne Cossar State Park near Oakland, Mississippi, where he has served for the past 20 years; and

WHEREAS, during his 20 years of loyal service to Cossar State Park, he has been selected as Manager of the Year on numerous occasions; and

WHEREAS, Artie, a dedicated employee, has been instrumental in the park's improvements over the years including the construction of five new cabins, the construction of a pool, addition of a new wing and the renovation of the restaurant, remodeling of the miniature golf course and the creation of a three mile nature trail; and

WHEREAS, Artie has been lovingly supported in all his endeavors by his gracious wife, Ingrid, and their children, Angie, Tom and Robert; and

WHEREAS, the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi finds it most appropriate to pay special tribute to such an outstanding Mississippian as Mr. Artie Hoff, whose long and distinguished career epitomizes a life rich in achievement and service to the people of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we commend Mr. Artie Hoff for his 25 years of service to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks and the State of Mississippi and extend to him our heartiest wishes of success in all his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Artie Hoff and the Capitol Press Corps.
