A RESOLUTION TO CREATE A NEW HOUSE RULE TO PROHIBIT SMOKING IN THE HOUSE CHAMBER, HOUSE GALLERY AND HOUSE COMMITTEE ROOMS.  

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That the Rules of the House are amended by creating a new rule to read as follows:

"______. Smoking shall not be permitted at any time in the House chamber, House gallery or House committee rooms. The room adjacent to the House chamber, which is commonly referred to as the "cloakroom," and the members' restrooms adjacent to the House chamber are not considered a part of the House chamber under this rule. As used in this rule, "smoking" means to inhale, exhale, burn, carry or otherwise possess any lighted cigarette, cigar, pipe or any other object or device of any form that contains lighted tobacco or any other smoking product. The Sergeant-at-Arms shall enforce the provisions of this rule."
