A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE BOGUE CHITTO HIGH SCHOOL LADY BOBCATS BASKETBALL TEAM ON THEIR OUTSTANDING SEASON. 

WHEREAS, the Bogue Chitto High School Lady Bobcats Basketball Team finished the 1997-1998 season with an outstanding record of 29 wins and 10 losses; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Bobcats participated in several tournaments throughout the season, winning the District 7 Championship, the Lincoln County Tournament, the Mt. Olive Invitational Tournament and finishing as runners-up in the South Mississippi Tournament; and

WHEREAS, many individual honors have been bestowed upon various team members including the naming of Vanessa Andrews as the Co-Most Valuable Player in the Lincoln County Tournament, to the All-District 7 Tournament Team, the All-South Mississippi Tournament Team and the All-State Tournament Team; the selection of Melanie Paige Fairchild to the All-Lincoln County Tournament Team, the All-District 7 Tournament Team, the All-South Mississippi Tournament Team and the All-State Tournament Team; the naming of Christi Wallace to the All-Lincoln County Tournament Team, the All-District 7 Tournament Team and the All-South Mississippi Tournament Team; the selection of Shelly Godbolt to the All-Lincoln County Tournament Team; and the naming of Jodi Moak to the All-Lincoln County Tournament Team; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Bobcats have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Mickey Myers and Assistant Coach Chris Terrell, who have broadened the players' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, Coach Myers has brought additional honor to himself and to Bogue Chitto High School by being selected as the Lincoln County Teacher of the Year; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Bobcats have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coaches and bring honor to Bogue Chitto High School; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we commend and congratulate the Bogue Chitto High School Lady Bobcats Basketball Team and their coaches, Head Coach Mickey Myers and Assistant Coach Chris Terrell, for their outstanding 1997-1998 season and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Bogue Chitto High School, Head Coach Mickey Myers and Assistant Coach Chris Terrell.
