A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING COACH JUDY MORGAN ON BEING ELECTED TO THE COACHES HALL OF FAME. 

WHEREAS, Coach Judy Morgan, Quitman High School Lady Panthers Head Basketball Coach and Head Track Coach, will be inducted into the Coaches Hall of Fame on July 17, 1998; and

WHEREAS, after graduating from West Lincoln High School, where she played basketball, in 1965, Coach Morgan attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Delta State University; and

WHEREAS, knowing she always wanted to be a coach, Coach Morgan took courses under the legendary Lady Statesmen Basketball Coach Margaret Wade; and

WHEREAS, Coach Morgan has been coaching and inspiring her players for 28 years and is in her 26th year at Quitman High School; and

WHEREAS, Coach Morgan's basketball teams have amassed an impressive 458 wins and 350 losses, winning one South State Championship, five district titles and finishing as runners-up in the district on four occasions; and

WHEREAS, highly successful as the girls track coach, she has led the Lady Panthers to 19 District Championships and in 1973, the State Championship; and

WHEREAS, devoted to her family, Coach Morgan is lovingly supported in all her endeavors by her husband, James, Superintendent of Quitman Schools, and their son, Chris; and

WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Mississippi finds it most appropriate to pay special tribute to such an outstanding coach as Coach Judy Morgan, who has broadened the players' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we commend and congratulate Coach Judy Morgan for being elected to the Coaches Hall of Fame and extend to her our heartiest wishes in all her future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Coach Judy Morgan and the Capitol Press Corps.
