A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MS. MARGARET ANDRESEN FOR BEING SELECTED AS INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR AT THE JEFFERSON DAVIS CAMPUS OF THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE. 

WHEREAS, Ms. Margaret Andresen, a resident of Vancleave, Mississippi, has been selected as Instructor of the Year at the Jefferson Davis Campus of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of her distinguished service to the college; and

WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators, on the basis of their teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Andresen, a languages instructor, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for 31 years; and

WHEREAS, a 1962 graduate of the Perkinston Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Ms. Andresen completed her bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Southern Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Andresen is a member of the National Education Association, Phi Theta Kappa, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Chairman of the American Association of Community Colleges, National Endowment for the Humanities Project: Improving Foreign Language Education in Community Colleges - Year Two; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Legislature to recognize and commend superior service and dedication to the State of Mississippi and its people:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we commend and congratulate Ms. Margaret Andresen for her outstanding record and service at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and for being selected as Instructor of the Year at the Jefferson Davis Campus of the college, and we extend our best wishes for her continued success and further contributions.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Margaret Andresen and the Capitol Press Corps.
