AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF SOUTHAVEN TO SUPPLEMENT SUMMERSHILL FIRE DISTRICT FOR TERRITORY REMOVED FROM ITS FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) Subject to the provisions of subsection (2) of this section, the governing authorities of the City of Southaven, Mississippi, in their discretion, are authorized to supplement the fire protection services of the Summershill Fire District for territory removed from its fire district.

(2) No such agreement shall be entered into for an amount larger than the projected property tax revenues imposed for Summershill Fire District in the territory being released and no such agreement shall be entered into until the removal of such property tax from the individual landowners has taken place.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
