AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SUNFLOWER COUNTY TO AUTHORIZE THE NORTH SUNFLOWER COUNTY HOSPITAL TO CONSTRUCT NEW NURSING FACILITY BEDS AT THE WALTER B. CROOK NURSING FACILITY; TO PROVIDE THAT THE CONSTRUCTION OF THOSE BEDS SHALL NOT REQUIRE THE ISSUANCE OF A CERTIFICATE OF NEED; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Sunflower County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may authorize the North Sunflower County Hospital to construct not more than sixty (60) new nursing facility beds at the Walter B. Crook Nursing Facility. The construction of the beds authorized under this act shall not require the issuance of a certificate of need, notwithstanding anything in Section 41-7-171 et seq. to the contrary.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
