AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF YALOBUSHA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO ANNUALLY CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO THE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE OF THE CITIES OF COFFEEVILLE AND WATER VALLEY, MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADVERTISING THE RESOURCES OF YALOBUSHA COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Yalobusha County, Mississippi, may annually contribute to the Chamber of Commerce of the City of Coffeeville, Mississippi, and to the Chamber of Commerce of the City of Water Valley, Mississippi, from any available funds, funds in the aggregate amount of Twelve Thousand Dollars ($12,000.00) per calendar year to each respective chamber of commerce for the purpose of advertising the resources of Yalobusha County.

(2) Beginning with the 1999 calendar year and for each calendar year thereafter, the Board of Supervisors of Yalobusha County may increase the amount of the contributions authorized in subsection (1) of this section by applying the United States inflation rate for the previous calendar year to the dollar amount the board of supervisors contributed to each respective chamber of commerce for the previous calendar year. The United States inflation rate for a calendar year shall be the Consumer Price Index for the calendar year for all urban consumers as calculated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the United States Department of Commerce.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
