AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF FULTON, MISSISSIPPI, TO IMPOSE ADDITIONAL COURT COSTS TO FUND THE COST OF A DRUG ABUSE RESISTANCE EDUCATION PROGRAM IN THE CITY OF FULTON, MISSISSIPPI. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Aldermen of the City of Fulton, Mississippi, is authorized to impose an additional court cost for the sole purpose of implementing a Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program in the amount of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) for a person convicted under the Mississippi Implied Consent Law, the Controlled Substances Law or for illegally selling or purchasing alcoholic beverages, light wine or beer.

(2) The Board of Aldermen of the City of Fulton, Mississippi, is also authorized to impose an additional court cost for the sole purpose of implementing the Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program provided in subsection (1) of this act in the amount of Five Dollars ($5.00) upon each person convicted of any misdemeanor other than those specified under subsection (1) of this act.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
