AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE TUNICA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO THE TUNICA COUNTY MUSEUM, INCORPORATED. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

 

SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Tunica County may, in its discretion, contribute funds to the Tunica County Museum, Inc., a Mississippi not-for-profit corporation in an amount not to exceed the avails of five (5) mills for the years 1998 and 1999 and not to exceed the avails of two (2) mills for the years 2000 through 2007. Further, the board may contract with the Tunica County Museum, Inc., to provide this funding for a period not to exceed ten (10) years. The funds may be paid out of any available fund of Tunica County as determined by the board of supervisors annually. Any funds provided to the Tunica County Museum, Inc., under the provisions of this act shall be used for the establishment of a public museum in Tunica County, Mississippi, including but not limited to the acquisition of land and construction of a museum facility thereon and for the operation and maintenance of the museum facility and exhibitions therein.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
