House Bill 1715

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARSHALL COUNTY TO LOCATE THE OFFICE OF THE SHERIFF OF MARSHALL COUNTY MORE THAN ONE-HALF MILE BUT NOT MORE THAN FIVE MILES FROM THE COURTHOUSE OF THE COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 25-1-99, Mississippi Code of 1972, the Board of Supervisors of Marshall County, in its discretion, may locate the office of the Sheriff of Marshall County more than one-half (1/2) mile but not more than five (5) miles from the courthouse of the county.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
