AN ACT MAKING A REAPPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OF ANY MONEY IN THE STATE TREASURY TO THE CREDIT OF THE CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES EMERGENCY CONSTRUCTION FUND, FUND NO. 391G, FOR FISCAL YEARS 1998 AND 1999. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby reappropriated out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of the Correctional Facilities Emergency Construction Fund, Fund No. 391G, to the Department of Finance and Administration, acting through the Bureau of Building, Grounds and Real Property Management, to be used by the Department of Finance and Administration to effect the intent of Senate Bill No. 2011, First Extraordinary Session of 1994, Senate Bill No. 3214, Regular Session of 1995, House Bill No. 1264, Section 1, Regular Session of 1996, and Senate Bill No. 2503, Regular Session of 1996, from and after passage, and ending June 30, 1999

$ 1,191,645.00.

Notwithstanding the amount reappropriated under the provisions of this section, in no event shall the amount expended exceed the unexpended balance as of June 30, 1997, or change the purpose for which the funds were originally authorized.

With the funds provided herein, the Mississippi Department of Corrections may expend an amount not to exceed Eight Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($850,000.00) for the purpose of constructing a community work center in Alcorn County, Mississippi.

SECTION 2. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers, in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after passage.
