AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 69-2-11, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE DESIGNATIONS FOR EMERGING CROPS SHALL INCLUDE TIMBER AND FORESTRY-RELATED ACTIVITIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 69-2-11, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

69-2-11. Emerging crop designations shall include, but not be limited to:

(a) Blueberries;

(b) Muscadines;

(c) Christmas trees;

(d) Aquaculture;

(e) Horticulture;

(f) Rabbit farming and processing; * * *

(g) Timber and forestry-related activities; and

(h) Others designated by the Board of Economic and Community Development or Legislature.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1998.
