AN ACT TO MAKE THE WINTERVILLE INDIAN MOUNDS PARK IN WASHINGTON COUNTY A STATE PARK UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHIVES AND HISTORY; TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY TO DONATE THE WINTERVILLE INDIAN MOUNDS PARK TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHIVES AND HISTORY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. There is established on the Warfield Point County Park in Washington County a state park to be managed by the Department of Archives and History in accordance with its powers and duties under Section 25-59-9.

The Board of Supervisors of Washington County is authorized to donate the Winterville Indian Mounds Park to the Department of Archives and History to be managed as a state park as provided in this section.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1998.
