AN ACT TO REQUIRE EACH SCHOOL DISTRICT TO PAY THE COUNSELORS IN THAT DISTRICT A SALARY EQUIVALENT TO THE SALARY PAID TO TEACHERS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Each school district shall pay the counselors in that district a salary equivalent to the salary paid to teachers under Section 37-19-7, taking into consideration the educational level and the years of experience of the counselor.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1998.
