AN ACT TO REQUIRE ALL SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO ANNUALLY SUBMIT A REPORT DETAILING THE DISTRICT'S RENOVATION AND REPAIR NEEDS FOR THE FOLLOWING FIVE YEARS TO THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION; TO PRESCRIBE THE CONTENTS OF THE REPORT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. In order for the State Board of Education to be fully cognizant of the capital renovation and repair needs of all school districts in the state, before July 1 of each year, the school board of every school district shall submit a written report to the State Board of Education detailing the anticipated capital renovation and repair needs of the school district for the five (5) school years following the date of the report. The report shall include:

(a) A description of the anticipated repair and renovation needs of all school buildings and related facilities in the school district, identifying each project specifically with the local school in need of the work;

(b) The year in which the school board intends to undertake each specific project;

(c) An estimate of the costs to be incurred for each specific project and in meeting all anticipated repair and renovation needs of the school district for the five-year period; and

(d) A description of the funds that will be available to the school district which the school board plans to allocate toward paying the costs of each specific project.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1998.
