AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT ALL NONPUBLIC SCHOOLS LICENSED TO CONDUCT SECONDARY EDUCATION PROGRAMS SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE MISSISSIPPI PRIVATE SCHOOL ASSOCIATION; TO PROHIBIT THE ASSOCIATION FROM DENYING MEMBERSHIP TO SCHOOLS FOR FAILURE TO PAY DUES OR COMPLY WITH CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. All nonpublic schools, including private, church and parochial schools, licensed to conduct secondary education programs in the State of Mississippi shall be included in the membership of the Mississippi Private School Association. The association may not deny membership to any nonpublic school due to the school's failure to pay enrollment fees or dues to the association or to comply with unreasonable requirements established by the association for the purpose of precluding certain schools from membership in the association.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1998.
