AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT NO PERSON EMPLOYED WITH THE MISSISSIPPI GAMING COMMISSION SHALL BE EMPLOYED BY ANY GAMING LICENSEE FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FOLLOWING THE TERMINATION OF HIS EMPLOYMENT WITH THE COMMISSION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) No person who is employed with the Mississippi Gaming Commission on a full-time or part-time basis, by contract or otherwise, shall be employed by any gaming licensee on a full-time or part-time basis, by contract or otherwise, for a period of one (1) year following the termination of his employment with the commission. Any person who obtains employment in violation of the provisions of this section shall be punished, upon conviction thereof, by a fine of not more than Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than five (5) years, or both.

(2) Any gaming licensee who employs any person in violation of the provisions of this section shall be punished, upon conviction thereof, by a fine of not more than One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00). The Mississippi Gaming Commission shall suspend the license of such gaming licensee until the termination of the employment of the person employed in violation of this section and for six (6) months thereafter.

(3) The provisions of this section shall not apply to any person employed by a gaming licensee or to any gaming licensee before the effective date of this act.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
