AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE TEACHERS TO PROVIDE INFORMATION CONCERNING STUDENTS' HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS TO CHILD CARE PROVIDERS AND TUTORS WHEN AUTHORIZED BY PARENTS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. A teacher in the public school system may provide information concerning a student's homework assignments and school projects to the student's child care provider or tutor. However, such information shall not be released unless the parent, guardian or custodian of the student has provided written authorization to the student's teacher specifically designating the child care providers and tutors to whom the information may be furnished.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1998.
